YOUTH    EMPOWERMENT    INITIATIVE

 

The Youth Empowerment Initiative envisions a way to broaden the horizons of young girls ages 10 to 18, providing opportunities to enhance self-esteem (worth and value), self-concept (image), and self-efficacy (capabilities) through monthly classroom instruction.

The goal of Alpha Omega Chi Youth Empowerment Initiative is to impart into young girls who are coming of age;

 

  • How to develop an effective life through Prayer and God’s Word

    • Face down prayer for youth

      • 15 minute Face Down prayer practicum. 

  • Tutorial Instruction - 45 minutes of topic specific instruction including, but not limited to:

    • Bullying

    • Faith

    • Fear

    • Anger

    • Integrity

    • Grasping God’s Word

    • Personality

    • Attitude

    • Behavior

    • Sisterhood

      • How to effectively develop and maintain relationships

  • Proper Etiquette

    • Hygiene

    • Remaining Chaste

    • Dress for success (clothing and makeup)

 

  • Development of Oratorical Skills

    • Poetry and the spoken word

    • Public speaking

  • Ministry Arts

    • Dance

    • Theatre (role play, dramatic presentation)

  • Signature Event

    • Alpha Omega Chi Sorority “Esther's Ball”

      • Held in December each year

      • This signature event is designed to:

        • Show appreciation of, and celebrate the investment and accomplishments the young ladies have made during the year

        • To introduce young ladies to another aspect of society and to implement what they have learned in classroom instruction:

          • How to conduct oneself in public

          • How to wear formal wear

          • Proper etiquette when dining

          • Appreciation for art (various styles of dance and music)

          • Speaking in public

  • Esther's Ball Eligibility

  • A registered member of Esther's Academy

  • Must all assigned practicums

  • Observably demonstrate improvements in behavior, attitude, prayer life, grasping of the written Word.

 

Partners of the Youth Empowerment Initiative include Chick-fil-A Inc., the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Network for Good Inc., Woodmizer, Inc., United Way, Indianapolis Public Schools, and The Benevity Community Impact Fund just to name a few.
